Teri (Atkins) Brown is originally from the Smoky Mountains of Tenn. now residing Colorado springs. A graphics designer, watercolorist, photographer, and abstract oil artist. She entered college at 16, by 18 she had a computer programming degree, and entered the University of Tenn., Knoxville. She graduated with a degree in interior architecture and design, magna cum laude.
She's worked in a top interior design firm, for a New York Times owned paper, designed sets for a Washington Post-owned Cable station, and worked as a graphic designer for Rust Communications. An artist since 1992, she was a member of the Jackson Art Association, and Tenn. Watercolor Society, and Southern Watercolor Society. She began an artist registry for west Tenn. which included over 150 artists and was nominated for the Governor's Award for Artist Leadership. She has won over 90 awards for her artwork and photos. She is also an award winning journalist, published poet, song composer and plays classical music. She now concentrates on landscape photography, watercolors, abstract oils, and advertising graphics, dividing her time between the Appalachians and the Rockies. She is currently a member of the Circle of Confusion, Peak Digital Imaging Society, Business of Art Center, Creative Photography Meetup, and newletter editor for Colorado Springs Art Guild. She has hundreds of images available for sale in notecards, photographs and fine art prints.
